Minor Hotels, an international hotel group that owns and operates luxury brands, announced the signing of its first Anantara property in Argentina. The Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort, slated to open in early 2028, will be located in the southernmost city in the world, where the Andes Mountains meet the icy waters of the Beagle Channel.
The resort will be part of the Costa Susana development in Ushuaia, just minutes from Tierra del Fuego National Park, and will offer 60 rooms and suites, a beachfront spa, fine dining restaurants, and meeting and event facilities.
True to the Anantara spirit, the property will invite guests to experience transformative moments inspired by nature and local culture, all within a sustainable hospitality model. The Costa Susana project has been recognized in the Landscape and Environment category at the World Architecture Festival, becoming Argentina's first carbon-neutral real estate development.
The management agreement was signed with the Monte Susana Urbanization Trust, an Argentine group with more than 20 years of experience in the real estate sector.

“Ushuaia, often called the 'end of the world,' is the gateway to Antarctica and a stunning destination in its own right. Bringing Anantara to Latin America is a key priority for the group, and we are delighted to introduce the brand in such a bold, remote, and inspiring setting as Ushuaia,”
said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Minor International.

Luxury with purpose at the end of the world.
The Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort will combine contemporary architecture, local design, and a vision of luxury with purpose, in harmony with the natural environment of Patagonia. Its experiences will include exploration activities, wellness, and gastronomy based on regional ingredients.
With Argentina's growing reputation as an international leisure destination, Ushuaia is established as an ideal location for the Anantara philosophy. Nearby attractions include ski resorts, the End of the World Train, Antarctic cruises, and Tierra del Fuego National Park, which protects more than 70,000 hectares of Andean and coastal landscapes.

“Anantara Ushuaia represents a decisive step in our expansion in the Americas and fulfills a long-term ambition. With the local expertise of our partners and a shared vision, this resort will be a benchmark for immersive and sustainable hospitality at the end of the world,”
said Gonzalo Aguilar, CEO of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas.

For his part, Melitón González del Solar, partner of the Monte Susana Urbanization Trust, highlighted:

“The alliance with Minor Hotels to bring Anantara to Argentina is a milestone. The natural beauty and spirit of exploration of Ushuaia reflect the essence of the brand. We are creating a benchmark eco-hotel for the region, committed to the environment and local communities.”

Located just minutes from Ushuaia International Airport, with direct flights to Buenos Aires and other domestic destinations, the Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort will offer privileged access to one of the last virgin territories on the planet, consolidating Minor Hotels' leadership in sustainable luxury tourism in Latin America.
