In this context, Travel2latam spoke with Demetrio Maduro, Director of Promtur Panama, who shared the results of this experience and the prospects for next year.

What was your experience like participating in Festuris for the first time?

We are very impressed with the warm reception we've received. This morning, we held an event with Orinter, attended by 350 travel agents, for a presentation dedicated to Panama. We have an agreement with Orinter to sell very attractive packages to our destination, including a special three-for-two promotion—buy two nights and get the third free. These offers are available through Brazilian travel agencies and represent an important step in strengthening Panama's promotion in this market.

What results and lessons learned from this first participation?

Primarily, Panama is not yet fully known to the Brazilian public, and that's why we are working intensively to showcase everything the country has to offer. Travelers who have already visited Panama, especially those who took advantage of Copa Airlines' stopover program , have shared excellent feedback about their experience, confirming the potential we have in this market.

How has Panama's tourism performed in 2025 and what are your expectations for next year?

This year has been very positive. Panama has solidified its position as one of the leading destinations in the Latin American market, with an 8.4% increase in tourist arrivals. We expect to close the year with even better figures and project that 2026 will be an even more productive year, especially in the meetings and conventions tourism segment. We have several international events confirmed that will bring together between 2,000 and 3,000 participants in the city, representing a great opportunity for the sector.
