Avianca launches the “Silla E” platform and calls on Colombian athletes to boost their dreams

With the aim of strengthening its commitment to Colombia and to the people who generate a positive impact in their communities, Avianca presented the “Silla E” (Extraordinary Chair) platform, a new proposal that seeks to highlight and support inspiring stories in the sports, social and environmental fields.

As part of the launch, the airline opened a call for applications aimed at emerging Colombian athletes, who can apply to receive round-trip tickets that will allow them to participate in competitions within and outside the country.

The application period will be open from November 12 to 21, 2025, and the winners will be able to travel—along with a companion, coach, or manager—between December 1, 2025, and December 1, 2026. In total, up to 100 tickets will be awarded during this first edition of the program.

“Doctors, surgeons, pediatricians, biologists, engineers, and architects from our more than 25 social and environmental partners travel on all our planes to make extraordinary changes in the lives of thousands of people. Now, with the E Seat initiative, we are putting all our planes at the service of exceptional athletes so they can take Colombia's name to the highest level in their discipline. This demonstrates, once again, that airplanes change lives,” said Felipe Andrés Gómez Vivas, Vice President of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Avianca.

Call for applications aimed at Colombian athletes

Colombian athletes residing in the country, whether adults or minors (minors with legal authorization), are eligible to participate. Applications can be submitted individually or in groups of up to four members.

Applicants must practice a sport recognized by the Ministry of Sport and participate in a competition endorsed and held in a destination served by Avianca.

Avianca's Evaluation Committee will select the beneficiaries taking into account the clarity of the purpose, the expected impact, the future projection, and the authenticity of the story presented in the video.

The “Chair E” also pays tribute to Avianca’s social and environmental partners, who develop transformative projects in different regions of the country and who, thanks to the Miles Bank, manage to extend the reach of their initiatives to the most remote corners of Colombia.
