The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, announced that, during the first nine months of 2025, national and international air transport maintained sustained growth, registering 90.9 million passengers transported on regular flights, which represents an increase of 2.4 percent compared to the same period in 2024 and 20.4 percent compared to 2019, before the pandemic.

“Mexico has a strong, competitive, and constantly growing aviation sector, backed by the confidence of travelers, airlines, and investors. The figures confirm that our country’s connectivity is not only being maintained but is being strengthened,” he said.

Likewise, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted that —according to data from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC)— between January and September of this year, 47.1 million passengers were registered on domestic flights, representing an increase of 3.3 percent compared to 2014 and 19.2 percent more than in 2019.

Furthermore, he highlighted that, with regard to international flights, 43.8 million passengers were transported, 1.4 percent more than in 2024 and 21.6 percent above the levels of 2019, which reflects the dynamism of tourism and the strengthening of the country's air connectivity.

Rodríguez Zamora mentioned that these results demonstrate the leadership and certainty provided by the Government of Mexico, headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who promotes public policies aimed at strengthening infrastructure, connectivity and national competitiveness.

“We continue to move forward with firm steps, strengthening our routes, destinations and strategic alliances, with the confidence that Mexico is and will continue to be a benchmark for tourism and aviation in the world,” he concluded.
