Arajet CEO receives the keys to the city of Cambridge at ceremony marking the start of operations to Massachusetts

In awarding the high honor, Mayor Simmons expressed, “I am thrilled to recognize the fruits of Victor Pacheco’s hard work and that of his entire team. I am certain that the Dominican community in Cambridge and throughout New England shares this feeling of pride that everyone has expressed today.”

For his part, Pacheco Méndez shared some heartfelt words, stating, “Receiving the keys to Cambridge is an honor we share with every Dominican and all the citizens of New England. At Arajet, we are here to stay, to connect families, businesses, and dreams with a safe, affordable, and reliable service. We reaffirm our commitment to serving this region with the punctuality and warmth that characterize us.”

The ceremony was attended by representatives from the State of Massachusetts and local authorities from neighboring communities such as Lawrence, Rhode Island, and Lynn, among other special guests from the business and community sectors. Dominican officials were also present, including the Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Boston, Antonio Almonte, who, addressing those in attendance, emphasized: “This new connection strengthens the ties between the Dominican Republic and New England, facilitates cultural and economic exchange, and provides better opportunities for our diaspora and for all travelers in the region.”

Details of the inaugural flight and operations in Boston

Arajet's inaugural flight between Santo Domingo (SDQ) and Boston (BOS – Logan International Airport) marked the beginning of a scheduled operation with 4 weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

This new route is designed to meet the high demand for family visits, tourism, and business travel between New England and the Dominican Republic. It is operated with state-of-the-art Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering an efficient and comfortable experience and excellent connectivity from the hubs of Santo Domingo and Punta Cana to more than 10 of the 27 destinations in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America through convenient and competitive connecting itineraries.
