International air connectivity showed remarkable dynamism in November 2025, when Colombia registered 1,520 direct weekly frequencies, representing a significant increase compared to the same month in 2024. This operation is represented by 29 airlines covering 112 routes and offering 259,650 seats per week, increasing their supply by 11.1%.
“This strengthening is also reflected in the behavior of international air passenger traffic, which increased by 7.3% between January and September 2025. In contrast, domestic transport saw a decrease of 2.2%, demonstrating that the sector's dynamics are being driven primarily by the external market,” stated Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
In this context, Avianca and Latam Airlines lead international passenger traffic growth with increases of 14.1% and 14.9%, respectively. Meanwhile, US airlines such as American Airlines (-33.1%) and Spirit Airlines (-18.5%) show significant declines in passenger traffic.
This restructuring of the air travel market strengthens the country's tourism competitiveness. "The expansion of routes, frequencies, and airline offerings to strategic and growing markets such as Brazil, Peru, and Spain boosts visitor arrivals and, consequently, tourism spending, consolidating Colombia as an increasingly attractive international destination," the industry leader concluded.
