Ali Serdar Yakut, Emirates' Executive Vice President of IT, said: “We see great potential in AI technology to serve our business needs, helping us address complex business challenges, strengthening our operations, and improving the customer experience.”

Working closely with OpenAI will make our technology investments more strategic and scalable, allowing us to deliver greater value to our employees and customers, crucially changing how we innovate, deliver value, and maintain our competitive advantage in the industry.”

Rod Solaimani, OpenAI's regional director for the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia, added: “Emirates Group has presented a groundbreaking vision of how AI can transform the future of aviation. With this collaboration, we are proud to help them realize that vision by integrating artificial intelligence across all their operations, equipping teams with powerful new tools, and reinventing the travel experience for millions of customers.”

As part of their joint work, Emirates and OpenAI will explore opportunities to introduce practical use cases, develop an internal network of AI experts, and establish an AI Center of Excellence.
This collaboration will identify key areas to enhance and expand AI capabilities across the organization, covering the skills, processes, and technology needed to propel Emirates into the next era.

Emirates will have preferential access to cutting-edge AI research and emerging advancements, as well as opportunities to collaborate on government-led innovation projects.

In addition, Emirates and OpenAI will jointly host targeted leadership sessions to explore practical applications, encourage support and promotion of AI initiatives, and provide executives with a clear view of OpenAI's product roadmap for long-term planning.

The technology teams at OpenAI and Emirates will also collaborate closely to optimize the integration of OpenAI models in order to establish best practices for prototyping and deployment, and provide testing environments to accelerate experimentation in various use cases driven by generative AI.

Emirates is committed to using technology and innovation to lead the aviation industry. The airline's approach aims to create practical and scalable solutions that benefit travelers, communities, the wider industry, and all its brands and businesses.
