The event is shaping up to be an unprecedented tourism boost, with one of the largest mobilizations in tourism, hotels and culture in recent years.
Hotel occupancy in Asunción and the metropolitan area is nearing 100%, driven by the arrival of fans, sports delegations, and international press. This high demand confirms the event's importance to the national economy, which will experience exceptional growth during these days.
In terms of economic impact, it is estimated that between 40,000 and 50,000 fans will attend the event. Regarding ticket sales, approximately 29,000 have been registered so far, of which 19,000 are for foreign fans (10,000 for Lanús supporters and 9,000 for Atlético Mineiro supporters).
The official total measurement of economic income will be carried out after the conclusion of the match between Lanús and Atlético Mineiro, based on visitor records provided by the National Directorate of Migration.
Asunción is consolidating its position as a host city for major international sporting events, this being the third time it has hosted the final of the most important tournament in the region after the Copa Libertadores.
This positioning strengthens the country's image as a competitive destination prepared to host top-level events.
As a prelude to the sporting event, on Friday the 21st, starting at 3:00 p.m., a Fan Zone will be set up on the Asunción waterfront, Avenida José Asunción Flores and Río Ypané. The space will offer music, gastronomy and activities for all fans.
This operation will be carried out in coordination with the Brazilian Federal Police, the Brazilian Highway Police, Brazilian intelligence agencies, and the Argentine Federal Police, thus reinforcing international cooperation to ensure the proper conduct of the event.
Planned tourist activities
To mark the final, the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur), in collaboration with various Paraguayan government entities and the private sector, will promote a special program of cultural, historical, and recreational activities. The goal is to offer visitors a unique experience, allowing them to discover the richness of Asunción's identity and enjoy the city's diverse tourist attractions.
