In December 2024, over half a million Chileans traveled abroad by air, reinforcing the national public's interest in short breaks during the final weeks of the year. In this context, the upcoming Black Friday presents a strategic opportunity to plan trips that take advantage of the holidays on Monday, December 8th, and Thursday, December 25th—dates that are ideal for short breaks before the end of the calendar year.

According to figures from the Civil Aeronautics Board, 566,000 Chilean travelers journeyed abroad in December of last year. Lima topped the list with 84,000 passengers, followed by Buenos Aires with 71,000, while São Paulo came in third with 42,000 trips. Taken together, Brazilian destinations led the overall ranking, making Brazil the most visited country by Chileans, with a total of 142,000 travelers. This trend aligns with data from Assist Card, a leading travel assistance company in Latin America, which identifies Brazil as one of the most sought-after destinations this season.

Assist Card emphasizes the importance of traveling with insurance to ensure safe and trouble-free experiences during the end-of-year celebrations. Renzo Caldarella, Direct Sales Manager for Assist Card Chile, highlighted that Black Friday is the perfect time to plan both December getaways and summer vacations, thanks to the availability of special offers and the ability to organize trips without added worries. In this context, the company offers products tailored to different travel profiles, from solo trips to vacations for couples, friends, or families.

In line with these initiatives, Assist Card announced discounts of up to 45% on multi-trip travel products, in addition to special benefits such as free coverage for children. With these offers, the company invites Chileans to leave behind the demands of the year and plan peaceful and safe trips, supported by assistance services designed for every need.
