Curaçao hosted the CHICOS 2025 (Caribbean Hotel Investment Conference & Operations Summit) for the first time, from November 9th to 11th, bringing together more than 300 investors, world tourism leaders, and visionaries to discuss the future of hospitality and investment in the Caribbean. It was the first time the island had hosted the event.
The program began with an exclusive Investment Tour, showcasing resorts, new buildings and developments, and strategic projects throughout the destination—both on land and at sea. Over the three days, global and regional partners explored opportunities for growth, collaboration, and innovation, marking a historic chapter for Curaçao in the Caribbean tourism investment landscape.
CHICOS 2025 took place at the elegant and renovated Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and included visits to new projects: Blue Bay Curacao Resort, Tui Blue Curacao, Puerto San Nicolas/Santa Martha, Rif Sint Marie developments, Pyrmont Resort and the new Chobolobo City Center development, followed by a boat tour that highlighted projects in Caracasbaai–Kura Buriku, Spanish Waters and the East Point development.
Curaçao's Prime Minister, Gilmar Pisas, led an impressive list of government representatives at the conference. A panel of leaders with representatives from the Curaçao Tourism Board, the Bonaire Tourism Corporation, the Bahamas Investment Authority, and Invest Turks and Caicos discussed the outlook for their islands and the Caribbean as a whole, highlighting continuous improvement in infrastructure and transportation capacity, local engagement, and sustainability as key factors in building on recent success. Leaders from Hilton, Marriott International, Hyatt, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Mandarin Oriental, and Club Mediterranee echoed these views in their panel discussions.
The event is recognized as the leading hospitality conference in the region. Participants also include government representatives, opinion leaders, developers, bankers and other financiers, tourism industry authorities, investment funds, hotel brand executives, individuals seeking investors for their tourism projects, franchise and operating companies, public and private institutions, consultants, architects, and designers.
The CHICOS 2025 event was organized by HVS and CINEX Curacao in partnership with the Curacao Tourist Board, Chata Curacao, and the Ministry of Economic Development. Brazil was represented by executives from chains such as Accor Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton, and others. This demonstrates how ready the Caribbean island is to receive investments in various sectors such as: blue economy, construction, food, technology, medical and wellness tourism, among others.
