This is a tool designed for people who visit an ancient and high-altitude city, not only for its beauty, gastronomy and culture, but also for its unique geographical location in the Middle of the World and at an altitude of more than 2,800 m.

Quito combines nature, culture and adventure in landscapes that range from subtropical forests to mountains close to 5,000 m above sea level, conditions that make the destination an extraordinary place, but that also require clear information to take care of the health of those who travel through it.

A practical, bilingual, pocket-sized guide

The Traveler's Health Guide for the DMQ offers recommendations before, during and after the trip; explains the main risks associated with altitude, solar radiation, climate and fauna; provides advice on protecting nature and traveling with pets, and includes a "Quito transect" that graphically shows the different ecosystems and altitudinal zones of the district, along with the risks and recommended care.

The material is available in Spanish and English, designed as a pocket guide for national and international tourists, facilitating informed and responsible tourism and helping to prevent illnesses and accidents during their stay in the city.

Where to find it

The guide will be officially presented during the event in Plaza San Francisco and will be available in printed format at tourist information points and municipal spaces linked to tourism and health, as well as in a digital version accessible through QR code and official channels of the Municipality of Quito and Quito Tourism.

With this tool, Quito reaffirms that it is "the most beautiful city in the world that takes care of you," offering each visitor clear and accessible information to enjoy their trip with health and safety.
