On the last long weekend of the year, Buenos Aires expects over 107,000 domestic and international visitors, who will spend around $27 billion. Furthermore, with an average occupancy rate of 76% in the main hotel categories, it will be the second-best holiday weekend of the year, second only to November, when occupancy reached 85%.

“With this latest assessment, we can project positive expectations for the summer season. We are a city that constantly sparks the interest of tourists, and everything indicates that Buenos Aires will rank among the top destinations in the country,” said Valentín Díaz Gilligan, president of the Buenos Aires City Tourism Board.

It's worth mentioning that the long weekends were marked by massive events that boost the arrival of tourists who enjoy the artists and experiences the city offers. The extensive schedule of concerts and sporting events is complemented by a high-quality infrastructure that positions Buenos Aires as a city for major events throughout the region. In that regard, the city recently saw a record occupancy rate of 94% during the weekend when Oasis performed two shows at River Plate Stadium.

Buenos Aires, a destination in constant growth

The results of the ten long weekends in 2025 in the City showed that more than one million national and international travelers arrived at the destination, which shows a growth of 32% compared to the almost 760,000 who entered the City in 2024. In addition, the economic impact of all the breaks was approximately $260 billion.

“These numbers reflect that, although holidays are a motivation for travel, having a wide range of tourist offerings is extremely important to attract visitors. That's why we are committed to working together with the private sector, which allows us to innovate and improve the quality of the experience in the City,” added Díaz Gilligan.
