In the period January-October 2025, departures of Colombian nationals abroad increased by 3%, reaching 4,730,687 travelers, compared to the same period in 2024, when the figure was 4,594,214. These results demonstrate the dynamism of Colombia's outbound tourism throughout the year and the outstanding growth of non-traditional international destinations. The countries with the largest increases in arrivals of Colombians during the same months were: Puerto Rico (+80%), Brazil (+49%), El Salvador (+46%), France (+37%), Turkey (+31%), Peru (+24%), Cuba (+23%), Panama (+20%), the Dominican Republic (+16%), and Costa Rica (+9%).

“According to the ANATO-ETA Quarterly Survey of Member Travel Agencies, the most popular destinations during the third quarter of 2025 were Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the United States, a trend that aligns with international travel trends,” stated Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.

Regarding total traveler participation, the United States continues to lead as the most visited destination with 1.3 million Colombians, representing 29% of the total; followed by Spain, which received 681,000 travelers (14%), and Panama, which reached 503,000 visitors (11%). The Dominican Republic, Peru, and Ecuador also remain among the top markets, solidifying their status as frequent choices for Colombian travelers.

“The biggest transformation in the market can be seen in the fact that Colombians are diversifying their trips and exploring new, unconventional international destinations, which demonstrates greater connectivity and a more competitive tourism offering. While we celebrate the dynamism of both outbound and inbound tourism in 2025, it is essential to continue working on incentives that boost domestic tourism, which would be crucial to stimulating demand within the country and strengthening the sector's competitiveness in the coming years,” added the industry leader.
