FITURNEXT 2026 announces its first speakers focusing on tourism and responsible water management
Jaume Mata, from the Visit Valencia Foundation, María Ángels Marí, from l'Aliança per l'Aigua, Beatriz García Moreno, from Segittur, and Virginia Sarobe, from Bioscore, lead the Observatory program
FITURNEXT, the FITUR Observatory dedicated to promoting good tourism practices with a focus on sustainability, will host a program during the professional days, from January 21 to 23 in the Knowledge Pavilion, in which leading experts will address water sustainability.
In partnership with Aqualia, a leading brand in integrated water cycle management, the FITURNEXT program will be complemented by the awarding of prizes to the winning initiatives of the 2026 Challenge, talks and round tables that will highlight the opportunities and services of the tourism industry to contribute to water efficiency.
Sustainability for the planet, people, and industry
The event will feature renowned professionals from the tourism sector who promote an efficient and responsible industry with regard to water management. Among them are Jaume Mata, Head of Tourism Sustainability at the Visit Valencia Foundation; María Ángels Marí, President of l'Aliança per l'Aigua; Beatriz García Moreno, Head of Projects in the R&D&I Area of the DTI network at Segittur; and Virginia Sarobe, Sustainability Director at Bioscore.
Awards ceremony for the winning initiatives
The FITURNEXT program will kick off with the awards ceremony for the winning projects of the 2026 Challenge dedicated to the sustainable and responsible management of water in tourism: Visit Valencia Foundation, Barceló Regen and Plastic Cup.
The agenda will also include dialogues with private and public sector organizations, roundtables on organizations seeking water balance, and will showcase some of the finalist initiatives through conversations that will reveal why another relationship with water is possible.
