Arajet, the leading Dominican airline, announced the launch of its new direct route between Punta Cana (PUJ) and the city of Mendoza (MDZ) in Argentina, a route that will begin operations on May 16, 2026 with three weekly frequencies, on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
With this announcement, Mendoza becomes the fourth Argentine city where Arajet establishes direct flights in Argentina, expanding the air connectivity of the South American country and enriching the network of more than 28 destinations and 15 countries that the airline currently has.
“From Mendoza, passengers will be able to connect to more than 10 destinations in our extensive network, including Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Lima, Mexico City, Kingston, among others,” stated Mercedes Martínez, Vice President of Corporate Alliances for the airline.
For his part, the governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, stated that “With this new flight, Mendoza adds efficient and accessible international connectivity. We are bringing the people of Mendoza closer to the heart of the Americas, but we are also opening our city so that others can come and get to know us and enjoy the charms of our nature, world-class vineyards, and top-tier hotels.”
Referring to the launch offer, Martínez shared that “We continue to deliver on our promise of competitive fares, punctuality and a simple and friendly experience, so, to celebrate this new destination, we are launching a promotion of up to 25% off the base fare, using the code “VamosMDZ”.
The purchase period for the offer is from December 22 to 26, 2025, and the tickets purchased can be used from May 16, 2026 to March 21, 2027.
With this opening, Arajet continues to strengthen its route map in the Southern Cone and consolidate the Dominican Republic as a key gateway to connect the Americas quickly from its hubs in Punta Cana and Santo Domingo.
