Marriott Bonvoy®, Marriott International's portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, announced its partnership with the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, marking the competition's return to North America after 32 years. As the tournament's Official Hotel Promoter in the region, the company will play a central role throughout the event in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Throughout the competition, Marriott Bonvoy will offer a range of experiences designed to enrich the lives of fans and members of its travel program. This will include immersive stays, activations created specifically for the tournament, new Marriott Bonvoy Moments, exclusive packages, and launches that will be revealed progressively leading up to the World Cup. The extensive presence of properties in each host city will allow the hotel to support attendees throughout every stage of their journey.
Peggy Roe, Chief Customer Officer of Marriott International, emphasized that soccer represents a shared language that connects cultures and generations, much like travel. In that sense, she underscored that the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be a momentous event for millions of people and that Marriott Bonvoy will play a key role as a hospitality partner, providing experiences that transform meaningful moments into lasting memories.
For his part, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström noted that the collaboration will allow attendees to have a wide range of accommodation options during June and July, thanks to Marriott's strong presence in the three host countries. He also emphasized that these stays will contribute to enriching the overall tournament experience, both inside and outside the stadiums.
Marriott Bonvoy boasts over 30 brands across 143 countries and territories, spanning the luxury, premium, and select segments. Its ecosystem integrates hotels, a global travel program, credit cards, and strategic partnerships, connecting travelers with experiences at every stage of their journey.
In addition to its role as official promoter, Marriott Bonvoy will develop a collaboration with Visa, FIFA partner and global leader in digital payments, with the aim of offering tournament-related experiences to fans and travelers from around the world.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be held from June 11 to July 19 and will feature 48 teams playing 104 matches in 16 host cities across North America. An estimated six million fans are expected to attend, with a global audience exceeding six billion, solidifying the event as one of the most significant sporting milestones in recent history.
