Hotel giant Meliá Hotels International is starting the year by accelerating its expansion into the Peruvian market. The leading Spanish company announced the official addition of the Hotel Cusco La Paccha Affiliated by Meliá, marking its long-awaited arrival in the Imperial City and consolidating its portfolio of four strategic assets in the country.

The project, which joined the portfolio on January 1, 2026, under a lease agreement, represents a key move for the chain. By adding it to the Affiliated by Meliá brand, the group seeks to elevate the operational and global distribution standards of an asset located on the iconic Avenida El Sol, directly connecting it to its international loyalty and marketing platform.

A prime location in the historic heart

The hotel's location is one of its main distinguishing factors. Situated on Cusco's main thoroughfare, in the heart of the historic center, the hotel is just a 10-minute walk from the Plaza de Armas and directly across from the city's largest artisan market.

This strategic location allows travelers to easily explore the treasures of the Inca capital, from vibrant markets like San Pedro and nearby museums to horseback riding excursions to Sacsayhuamán. Furthermore, the hotel is positioned as a strategic hub for travelers connecting the city, the Sacred Valley, and the main cultural and natural circuits of southern Peru.

Design philosophy and sustainable commitment

Hotel Cusco La Paccha embodies the essence of the urban waterfall that gives it its name: Paccha Pumaq Chupan. With a philosophy inspired by the flow of life and nature, the property features 167 fully equipped rooms, designed to offer the ideal rest for the restless traveler.

The offering is complemented by a selection of local cuisine, a bar, and a welcoming spa with revitalizing treatments. In line with Meliá's global values, the 4-star hotel stands out for its strong environmental commitment, operating with 200 solar panels to ensure a responsible and sustainable stay.

Portfolio Strategy: The Lima-Cusco axis

For the business and tourism sectors, the value of this opening lies in the creation of an efficient, dedicated network. With its already established presence in the capital through Meliá Lima and INNSiDE Lima Miraflores, and the upcoming debut of Casa de la Pila (Meliá Collection), the group completes the logistical loop for high-spending travelers.

"This establishment completes our presence on the country's most iconic tourist circuit: Lima-Cusco," said Victor Zafer Dönmez, Area Managing Director LATAM. "This combination allows us to market tours and experiences more efficiently, capturing both the leisure and corporate segments that seek a comprehensive experience in both destinations."

Dönmez also highlighted that this opening is part of a larger rollout: "Throughout 2025, we have added ten new projects in Latin America and the Caribbean. This strategy reaffirms our commitment to a high-quality offering aligned with the expectations of the contemporary international traveler."

For her part, Carolina Morillas, the property representative, indicated that the alliance with Meliá will allow the asset to be positioned as a benchmark of quality and sustainability in Cusco, leveraging the track record of the Spanish operator, recognized by S&P Global as one of the most sustainable hotel companies in the world.
