The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), along with its 25 member destinations, reported that it has been closely monitoring the geopolitical situation in Venezuela and the disruptions experienced by some travelers due to the temporary closure of airspace over the past weekend.
The organization highlighted that the Caribbean has extensive experience in managing external disruptions and that its tourism industry has once again demonstrated a high level of resilience. In this context, the CTO thanked the airlines for adding capacity, which allowed travelers to continue with their plans, as well as the accommodation sector for its flexibility in assisting affected guests, while preserving one of the region's main economic drivers.
The organization confirmed that air travel and cruises within the Caribbean continue to operate normally and that advance bookings remain strong. Therefore, it encouraged travelers to proceed with their plans and assured partners and visitors that the Caribbean remains open to tourism and ready to welcome them.
Looking ahead to 2026, the motto “One Caribbean: Infinite Experiences” invites visitors to discover a unified and diverse region. With world-class resorts, boutique hotels, ecotourism experiences, cultural festivals, and internationally renowned cuisine, the Caribbean presents itself as a safe and welcoming destination, where the hospitality of its people remains the key differentiator.
