The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, reported that, from January to November 2025, 88.1 million visitors entered the country, representing a growth of 13.8 percent compared to the previous year.
“The data tells us of an unprecedented year for tourism in Mexico, not only because of the scale of the figures, but also because of the consistency with which they have been maintained throughout the year,” he stated.
He emphasized that according to the International Travelers Surveys of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), during the first 11 months of the year, the foreign exchange earnings generated by international visitors amounted to 31 billion 220 million dollars, a figure that reflects an increase of 6.7 percent in contrast to the same period in 2024.
He indicated that in November 2025 alone, 8.79 million visitors entered the country, representing an increase of 15.6 percent compared to the same month in 2024. In addition, foreign exchange earnings from visitor spending totaled 3,001.6 million dollars, 9 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.
The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) pointed out that, from January to November 2025, the country received 42.6 million international tourists, a figure 5.8 percent higher than the same period in 2024.
He highlighted that at the close of the January-November 2025 period, the average expenditure of international tourists arriving by air reached $1,229.4, an amount equivalent to an increase of 5.9 percent compared to the same period in 2024, as well as 22.1 percent compared to 2019.
Furthermore, he highlighted that the country's various ports received 10.1 million cruise ship passengers, which represented an increase of 12.3 percent compared to 2024 and 25.5 percent compared to 2019.
During that same period, he specified that foreign exchange earnings from cruise ship excursionists reached $847.9 million, equivalent to increases of 13.5 percent compared to 2024 and 53.8 percent compared to 2019.
“In accordance with the policy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, we will continue to promote a tourism model that generates shared prosperity and real value in the territories, benefiting communities, businesses, and workers in the sector,” he concluded.
