Peru's Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PROMPERÚ) secured foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments totaling USD 2,489,364,000 during 2025. This figure is more than four times the amount obtained in 2024 and marks a milestone in the FDI promotion work carried out by the state entity.

The more than USD 2.489 billion committed is distributed across twelve investment initiatives or projects. These belong to eleven companies from Spain (three companies), China (two companies), Argentina (two companies), Bolivia, Chile, Mexico, and the United States.

Regarding the distribution of investment projects by sector, three of them are in the food and beverage sector, specifically the agro-industrial line. Another three are in the tourism sector, through the construction of new hotels.

The renewable energy sector, meanwhile, has added two projects for the production of solar energy and green hydrogen. Similarly, the diverse manufacturing and knowledge-intensive services sectors each have two projects.

Currently, the twelve investment projects are in different phases, from pre-development to execution, and are located in Arequipa, Cusco, Junín, Lambayeque, Lima, and Piura.

PROMPERÚ as a promoter of investment commitments

To promote the more than USD 2.489 billion in FDI commitments, PROMPERÚ acted as a key facilitator between investing companies and national stakeholders such as ministries, regional governments, trade associations, and private partners. This facilitating role expedited the investment agreements.

It also provided foreign companies with guidance on the Peruvian regulatory framework, sector requirements, territorial opportunities and installation processes, as well as strategic information for the validation of their projects.

Promotion of business investments by PROMPERÚ

It is worth noting that PROMPERÚ, an entity attached to Mincetur, has the mission of promoting the arrival of FDI to five sectors: diverse manufacturing, food and beverages, renewable energies, tourism and knowledge-intensive services.

To that end, during 2025 it organized 16 events promoting foreign investment, including forums and seminars. It also assisted 117 foreign companies interested in the Peruvian market and prepared more than 120 specialized documents for potential investors.
