Amateur and professional aviation photographers gathered for the fourth edition of Spotter Day, organized at Punta del Este International Airport by the Spotters SUMU group with the support of Aeropuertos Uruguay. Participants had the opportunity to capture images of various aircraft, both private and commercial, as well as arrivals and takeoffs during a period of high traffic.
With a new General Aviation Terminal, which opened at the end of 2024 tripling the space of the previous one, Punta del Este Airport received 220 private flights on December 26, 2025 alone, an example of the high air traffic and the constant flow of operations.
In terms of security, and to guarantee the protection of the photographers, Aeropuertos Uruguay installed a tent at a distance that allowed for a prominent and preferential panoramic view.
The event also featured a demonstration by Cetrería del Sur, a company specializing in bird and wildlife control services, which presented its working methodology. In addition, the airport's Fire Department explained its functions and protocols and conducted a demonstration of aircraft firefighting using its water tankers.
