International air ticket sales to Colombia registered a growth of 5.4% during the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a total of 328,406 tickets sold, according to industry data.
The United States solidified its position as the leading source market, accounting for 35.5% of all tickets sold to Colombia. It was followed by Mexico, with an 8.7% share, and Brazil, with 7.9%. Together, these three markets represented 52% of total international ticket sales to Colombia between October and December 2025.
Regarding destinations, Bogotá topped the list with 112,000 tickets sold, representing 34.4% of the total. Medellín came in second with 65,344 tickets (19.9%), while Cartagena ranked third with 62,236 tickets, accounting for 19.0%. These three cities accounted for approximately 80% of international air travel demand to the country during the period analyzed.
“Bogotá, Medellín and Cartagena accounted for nearly 80% of the tickets sold to Colombia between October and December 2025,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of the Colombian Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ANATO).
Among the fastest-growing destinations was Cúcuta, which saw a 39.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. San Andrés experienced a 17.5% increase, driven primarily by the Brazilian and Chilean markets, which accounted for 37.4% and 22% of the total, respectively. Medellín, meanwhile, showed a 9.3% growth, solidifying its position as the second most important destination for international passengers, after Bogotá.
“One relevant aspect is that 72% of the tickets sold during the fourth quarter of 2025 corresponded to trips scheduled for the months of October to December, which reinforces the importance of the end-of-year season for inbound tourism in Colombia,” the trade association leader concluded.
