Uruguay participated in the XIII Ibero-American Tourism Conference

The Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni, participated in the XIII Ibero-American Tourism Conference, a regional forum for dialogue and cooperation that brings together authorities and leaders from the Ibero-American tourism sector to analyze the main challenges and opportunities of sustainable tourism

The opening of the meeting was led by the Spanish Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi Hereu, who welcomed the participating delegations, followed by the words of the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand, who highlighted the importance of joint work between the countries of the region.

During the Plenary Session, institutional interventions were developed focusing on three strategic axes:

Environmental sustainability, with a focus on the conservation and protection of tourist destinations in the face of the climate emergency, as the basis for the development of tourism in Latin America.

Social sustainability and living culture, promoting inclusive tourism that contributes to community well-being and the strengthening of local identities.

Economic sustainability, addressing tourism competitiveness, innovation and digitalization.

Minister Menoni's participation reaffirms the commitment to a sustainable, inclusive and competitive tourism model, aligned with the principles of Ibero-American cooperation and the integral development of communities.
