Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has officially opened bookings for the Norwegian Aura, the largest and most advanced ship in its fleet, which will begin sailing in late May 2027 in Europe and will have Miami as its home port from June of the same year.

Measuring nearly 345 meters in length, with a gross tonnage of 169,000 and a capacity for 3,840 passengers at double occupancy, the Norwegian Aura will be 10% larger than its predecessors, the Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna. Its design focuses on offering experiences tailored to families and multigenerational travelers, combining new features with renovated spaces and services.

One of the biggest attractions will be Ocean Heights, an outdoor activity complex that will serve as the heart of the ship both day and night. It will feature a wide range of entertainment and adventure activities, including the largest number of waterslides in the entire NCL fleet, a ropes course, suspended cabanas, and areas designed for the enjoyment of children, teens, and adults.

From Miami, the Norwegian Aura will operate seven-night Caribbean itineraries, with stops at exclusive Norwegian destinations such as Harvest Caye in Belize and Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. This latter private island is undergoing an ambitious renovation plan that will incorporate, starting in late 2025, new pool areas, swim-up bars, premium zones, and exclusive spaces for adults and children.

Looking ahead to 2026, and before the start of operations of the Norwegian Aura in the Caribbean, Great Stirrup Cay will also add the Great Tides Waterpark, a nearly six-acre water park with 19 slides, cliff jumps, a dynamic river and new adventure excursions, reinforcing the appeal of the destination as a complement to itineraries.

According to Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, the Norwegian Aura represents a new era for the company, focused on offering greater freedom, connectivity, and onboard entertainment options. He emphasized that the ship was designed to allow each guest to enjoy a flexible vacation experience, combining relaxation, fun, and shared spaces.
