At Fitur 2026, taking place from January 21-25 in Madrid, Spain, 20 travel agencies affiliated with ANATO and more than 30 Colombian business owners will showcase their innovative tourism offerings to over 155,000 professionals, highlighting Colombia's rich natural, social, and cultural heritage.
“As an association, we are pleased to be present at this key event for global tourism, supporting – along with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Fontur – travel agents and business owners in the sector, who have been preparing by adapting their offerings and new proposals to meet market needs,” said Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO. Meanwhile, José Vicente de los Mozos, President of the Fitur Executive Committee, stated at a press conference that they are confident the economic impact will exceed 500 million euros.
The 20 ANATO-affiliated travel agencies present at the fair are: All Reps, Aventure Colombia, Aviatur, Cabala Tailored Experience, Chaska Tours, Colombian Details / 5 Senses, Colombian Journeys, Contactos, Destino Colombia, Gema Tours, Go & Travel, Green Travel, Incentivamos Colombia, Macondo DMC, Magic Tour, My Trip Colombia / Paipa Tours, Panamericana de Viajes, Transfers and Tours, Travel Solutions, and Vaova.
The Colombian delegation comprises 59 tourism sector businesses, 11 regional entities, 14 accommodation establishments, and more than 30 tour operators, with approximately 40% of them supported by ANATO through a strategy led by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Fontur.
For Fitur 2026, Colombia aims to win the Sustainable Stand award with initiatives such as a carbon footprint calculator, the use of energy-efficient devices and others powered by 100% renewable energy, and educational spaces focused on the rational use of resources, among others.
Additionally, during the five days of the event, participating tour operators will showcase the beauty of Colombia's six tourist regions: Amazon-Orinoco, Western Andes, Eastern Andes, Greater Colombian Caribbean, Colombian Massif, and Colombian Pacific, focusing their portfolios on the priority demands of the Spanish market, namely LGBTQ+ tourism, sun and beach tourism, cultural tourism, nature and adventure tourism, romance tourism, wellness tourism, meetings and events tourism, luxury tourism, and community-based tourism. Furthermore, they will concentrate on both traditional destinations and emerging regions that stand out for their natural beauty and community-oriented approach.
“Through important tourism fairs like Fitur and the ANATO Tourism Showcase, which we will hold from February 25 to 27, 2026, in Bogotá, travel agents play a fundamental role in showcasing our country to the world. For this reason, the participation of business owners in these types of events, which bring together leaders, professionals, and key figures in tourism worldwide, is essential to boosting the travel industry as a pillar of the Colombian economy,” added the trade association leader.
