Meliá Hotels International has been included in the Top 50 Companies in Spain for Generation Z, the independent selection made by Joinrs that recognizes the organizations best aligned with the expectations, priorities and values of young talent.
“We are celebrating our 70th anniversary as a company and continue to demonstrate our ability to evolve and stay close to new generations. The hotel sector is an extraordinary gateway to the professional world due to the constant interaction between people and cultures and the growth opportunities offered by an exciting industry like ours. That is why we are proud to have adapted our value proposition and connected with young people through principles that have always been part of Meliá's essence, such as sustainability and the care and development of our teams,” said Gabriel Escarrer, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International.
The list comprises 50 companies, selected from over 900 organizations active in Spain, and is based on an analysis of the behavior of more than 250,000 young people in the Joinrs community, along with information from job postings, career portals, corporate communications, and employer brand reputation. Furthermore, the evaluation criteria are defined using data from Joinrs DataLoop, its annual observatory dedicated to studying Generation Z trends. This approach allows for the identification of which organizations respond most authentically and effectively to the needs of young people seeking responsible, innovative, and committed employers.
In the case of Meliá, the company has positioned itself as the only hotel company present in the ranking, and its highest-rated value was "Tangible Commitment to Sustainability." Among the most noteworthy initiatives is its corporate strategy "Travel for Good," a comprehensive framework that encompasses its responsible tourism commitments. Also outstanding is Meliá Academy, the company's corporate university, which promotes continuous training in key areas such as hospitality, leadership, management, customer experience, and digital skills, supporting professional growth at all stages of a career.
Another differentiating factor recognized by Joinrs is the culture of well-being that Meliá promotes in its hotel environments, as well as the creation of diverse and multicultural teams. Thanks to this combination of purpose, training, sustainability, and well-being, the company continues to strengthen its appeal to new generations and consolidate its leadership in employer branding in Spain.
Joinrs is a digital platform that uses artificial intelligence to connect university students, recent graduates, and junior professionals with real internship and entry-level job opportunities. Its technology analyzes the compatibility between candidates and vacancies, making it easier for companies to identify top young talent and helping users discover career options that align with their profile and aspirations.
