Between December 2025 and May 2026, Colombia registered 646,770 international airline bookings, representing a 6.4% increase compared to the same period the previous year (December 2024 – May 2025). The reported figures suggest the sustained strengthening of the country's inbound tourism, given that over 70% of bookings are for leisure travel, followed by visits to friends and family (15.3%), group travel (7.5%), and business travel (6%).
“Tourists are increasingly interested in everything Colombia has to offer, and this is reflected in the growing demand for travel to our country. Traveler behavior shows a trend toward longer stays. 25.7% of bookings are for trips of more than 21 nights, 19.7% for stays of 14 to 21 nights, 19.1% for trips of 6 to 8 nights, and 15.9% for stays of 9 to 13 nights,” stated Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.
Regarding booking lead time, 37.6% of reservations were made, on average, more than four months in advance of the flight, while 36% were made between two and four months before the trip.
“Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena account for more than 91% of international bookings, with the capital being the main point of entry to the country, representing approximately 59% of the total. This trend confirms the strength of traditional destinations and the confidence of international travelers. Furthermore, the growth of other regions such as Bucaramanga, Pereira, Santa Marta, and Cúcuta is noteworthy, demonstrating the increasing interest in new destinations within the country,” concluded the trade association leader.
