American Airlines announced a boost to its operations from Buenos Aires ahead of the 2026 World Cup season, with the goal of allowing more Argentine fans to travel to the United States to support their national team.

Between March 28 and October 24, the airline will increase its capacity from Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE), incorporating larger aircraft and new frequencies to its main hubs in North America.

On the Buenos Aires–New York (JFK) route, American will increase capacity compared to the IATA 2025 winter season, by operating the service with the Boeing 777-300, with a capacity for 304 passengers, replacing the Boeing 777-200 used in the previous season.

The airline will offer up to three daily flights to Miami (MIA), adding three weekly frequencies—on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—compared to last season. It will also maintain four weekly flights to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), strengthening connectivity between Argentina and the United States.

“We are thrilled to offer our customers even more options to travel to the United States during what promises to be an unforgettable soccer season,” said Duncan Paterson, Director of Sales for Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay at American Airlines. “By increasing our capacity in Buenos Aires, we are offering fans more seats, more flexibility, and more opportunities to follow their team and experience all the excitement of this championship.”

With these new frequencies and the addition of larger aircraft, American anticipates a 30% increase in its seating capacity from Buenos Aires compared to the 2025 season.
