The aerospace industry began 2026 with clear signs of expansion. During January, one of the world's leading manufacturers recorded 112 net orders for commercial aircraft, the highest volume for that month since 2012, amid sustained growth in air traffic and fleet renewal.
During the same period, 46 deliveries were completed, the best result for a January since before the pandemic. Of the total, 37 aircraft were from the 737 MAX family and five were 787 Dreamliner models, key programs for covering both regional and long-haul routes.
This performance consolidates a positive trend that began in 2025, when the company reached its highest level of deliveries since 2018. The improvement is linked to greater stability in the supply chain, the normalization of production rates, and the strengthening of quality controls in its industrial processes.
The orders received come from airlines and leasing companies in various regions, with a particular interest in new-generation aircraft that are more fuel-efficient and have a lower environmental impact. This demand reflects route expansion, growth in international traffic, and the sector's sustainability strategies.
Production and delivery rates are expected to continue increasing through 2026, with a focus on single-aisle and wide-body programs. January's results reflect a resuming sustained growth in the airline industry and a gradual recovery in global market confidence.
