Uruguay a Toda Costa invites residents and visitors to enjoy the summer through music, art and collective celebration, consolidating itself as an inclusive, diverse and national cultural proposal that accompanies the enjoyment and tourist experience in the different destinations of the country.
The Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni, stated, “It is an honor to have such a professional and high-quality lineup of artists selected to represent us in this edition of Uruguay a Toda Costa. When we promote Uruguay, we emphasize our natural beauty and gastronomy, but culture and art are also fundamental pillars of the cultural and heritage tourism we want to promote. Culture goes hand in hand with tourism, and these events, in addition to being completely free, are part of democratizing access to culture and fostering a valuable public-public synergy.”
For her part, the Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Florencia Ualde, emphasized, “Uruguay a Toda Costa is about territory and identity, and that defines this program that travels the entire coast of the country with a clear conviction: the presence of the State in the territory through high-quality cultural and artistic offerings. The objective is to strengthen the tourism experience, promote decentralization, and ensure that Uruguay continues to surprise with its offerings, enhancing the enjoyment of both residents and visitors. The program also has the unique feature of including, alongside the main shows, the participation of emerging local artists, highlighting the cultural identity of each region.”
The Coordinator of the National Institute of Music, Mayra Jaimes, stated, “For the National Institute of Music, participating in this initiative is fundamental. We have been working to bring music closer to people and promote its development, and on this occasion, a very clear partnership is reflected around a common goal: to create encounters in public spaces. In Montevideo, the celebration of Alfredo Zitarrosa's 90th birthday will feature more than 30 artists on stage, combining genres and generations, and placing his work in dialogue with current and contemporary proposals.”
Likewise, the tourism directors and departmental representatives Ximena Acosta (Canelones), Martín Álvarez (Colonia), Javier Báez (Maldonado) and Robert Caballero (Rocha) highlighted the relevance of these events for the comprehensive promotion of destinations, the boost to local development and the strengthening of the tourism offer of each department.
The actions will be carried out in coordination with the departmental governments and with the collaboration of Antel, OSE and UTE.
