The Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) presented preliminary air traffic data for the region in 2025, compiled from various official sources, confirming a 5% growth compared to the previous year. This result reflects the sustained increase in air travel demand and the resilience of the region's markets in the face of various challenges.

Among the countries that stood out, Argentina led in relative growth, with an increase of 12.7%, driven by domestic and international traffic.

Brazil, the region's largest air travel market, recorded 234.8 million passengers, a 9.1% increase. International traffic was the main driver, rising 14% (+3.5 million passengers).

In the Caribbean, growth was 1%. The Dominican Republic maintained its lead with 19.4 million passengers (+4.6%), while Curaçao stood out with a 17% increase. Meanwhile, Jamaica experienced a 7.9% decline due to the impact of Hurricane Melissa on operations and tourist flows.

Meanwhile, Miami airport closed the year with 55.3 million passengers.

Rafael Echevarne, Director General of ACI-LAC, commented: “The 5% growth recorded in 2025 confirms the strength of aviation in Latin America and the Caribbean, even in the face of a challenging global scenario. It is important to highlight the case of Argentina, where the open skies policy has been decisive in boosting air traffic and generating a 12.7% increase. At the same time, Brazil reaffirmed its position as the largest market in the region, with above-average results and strong international expansion, demonstrating the central role it plays in Latin American connectivity.”
