The airline resumes the historic connection between Colombia and Venezuela with daily flights, strengthening regional connectivity and integration in Latin America.

Avianca began daily operations on its direct route between Bogotá and Caracas with flight AV142, which took off from El Dorado International Airport to Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.

The airline is resuming this historic route following a comprehensive assessment of operational and air safety conditions conducted in coordination with the relevant authorities. With this operation, Avianca strengthens regional connectivity and contributes to economic, commercial, and tourism growth, fostering greater integration and development in Latin America.

For more than six decades, Avianca has connected Venezuela with its route network, consolidating a key connection for the mobility of people and opportunities. Today, the route is reintegrated into the airline's network, connecting Caracas with 83 destinations in 28 countries.

“We are extremely proud to resume the Bogotá-Caracas route, once again uniting Colombia and Venezuela after 60 years. We are among the first international airlines to do so, now with daily flights, reaffirming our commitment to being the bridge in Colombia and Latin America that connects people, stories, and opportunities,” said Gabriel Oliva, president of Avianca Group.

For her part, Carmen Caballero, president of ProColombia, stated: “The reactivation of this air connection represents a very important step in strengthening regional integration and recovering tourism and trade flows between Colombia and Venezuela. ProColombia has been providing ongoing support to Avianca throughout this process, facilitating institutional relations and coordinated work with aeronautical authorities, with the support of our team in Venezuela. This type of progress reflects the value of public-private cooperation in continuing to expand connectivity opportunities for the country.”

The Bogotá–Caracas route will operate daily. Flight AV142 will depart Bogotá at 7:40 and arrive in Caracas at 10:40. In the opposite direction, flight AV143 will depart Caracas at 12:10 and arrive in Bogotá at 13:15.
