The Uruguayan Chamber of Tourism (CAMTUR) announced Expo Turismo Uruguay 2026, which will take place from April 17 to 19 at the LATU Events Center in Montevideo. The event has been declared of Tourist Interest by the Uruguayan Ministry of Tourism, which will also participate as a sponsor.

The fair is presented as a public-private partnership platform focused on generating business. Exhibitors will have a space to showcase products and services, finalize commercial agreements, and expand their network, while the public will be able to compare offerings, learn about experiences, and plan trips based on a concentrated selection of options in one place.

Tourism plays a significant role in the national economy: it represents 6.4% of the Gross Domestic Product, 43% of service exports, 12% of total exports, and is linked to approximately 12% of the country's businesses. In this context, the fair aims to solidify its position as the sector's leading meeting point, strengthening both the offerings of participating companies and travelers' access to information.

During the official presentation, the Minister of Tourism, Pablo Menoni, highlighted that the initiative aims to position tourism within the public and economic agenda as one of the country's main productive and export sectors.

The exhibition anticipates the participation of destinations, service companies, operators and public bodies, with the aim of boosting the promotion and marketing of Uruguayan tourism at a regional level.
