The International Civil Aviation Organization welcomed the first cohort of its Global Ambassadors and Champions programme, an initiative designed to broaden the social reach of the aviation ecosystem and position it as a driver of economic and social progress.

The project brings together professionals and leaders from various regions who will take on the mission of promoting career opportunities, sharing technical knowledge and encouraging vocations in areas related to air transport. Through educational activities, conference participation and outreach actions, the group will work to connect the industry with young people, women and underrepresented communities.

In addition, the Champions will play a strategic role in advancing policies related to capacity building and talent planning, fostering more inclusive and resilient environments. The initiative aims to respond to the growing demand for qualified personnel while supporting the sector’s technological and environmental transformation.

The inaugural selection includes representatives from Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, reflecting a truly global perspective. Among them is Argentina’s María Luján Di Loreto, alongside other professionals with experience in management, regulation, training and operations.

Through this action, the organization reinforces its long-term vision focused on sustainability, innovation and international cooperation, pillars considered essential to ensure safe and efficient connectivity in the decades ahead.
