The 45th edition of the ANATO Tourism Showcase began on February 25th in Bogotá and is already underway with record-breaking numbers. For the first time, the event occupies the entire fairgrounds, with over 45,000 square meters of exhibition space and the participation of more than 45 countries, along with all of Colombia's departments.
During the three-day event, which runs until February 27, nearly 56,000 tourism industry professionals are gathering to establish strategic agreements that will strengthen Colombia's and the world's tourism offerings. The organizers estimate that approximately 234,000 business contacts will be generated, equivalent to about USD 135 million annually for the entire event, representing a 6.5% increase compared to 2025.
In addition to its impact on the industry, the event is projected to generate more than 6,600 direct jobs in Bogotá during its run, reaffirming its role as a driver of the local economy.
Among the more than 1,600 exhibitors and co-exhibitors are notable new participants from Andorra, Egypt, Morocco, Spain, Peru, Bolivia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. In addition, the Hosted Buyers program has been implemented, facilitating business meetings with entrepreneurs from the United States, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, Morocco, Turkey, and Poland, who explore products, negotiate rates, and establish strategic alliances.
At the opening ceremony, ANATO's CEO, Paula Cortés Calle, highlighted the evolution of the sector over the last four decades and emphasized the meeting's position as the main tourism event in Colombia and one of the most important in Latin America.
The official opening also included the participation of the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Diana Morales, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen the industry. For his part, the Mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, highlighted the impact of tourism on the capital, which received 15 million visitors in 2025, 2 million of whom were international tourists.
In this edition, the Mexican Caribbean and the department of Córdoba are participating as Guest Destinations of Honor. The governor of Córdoba, Erasmo Zuleta, and the Secretary of Tourism for the State of Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, expressed their satisfaction at being part of this commemorative event, highlighting its importance in promoting tourism growth in their regions.
