The 45th edition of the ANATO Tourism Showcase, which takes place from February 25 to 27 in Bogotá, will be the stage where Medellín and Antioquia will consolidate their positioning strategy and share the positive balance that 2025 left in tourism matters.
The Medellín and Antioquia Bureau, the foundation responsible for promoting the destination, will lead the institutional presence at the fair, along with the District and the Governor's Office. The agenda includes business meetings, networking with industry stakeholders, and promoting the offerings of the city and the department's subregions.
The delegation will consist of institutional representatives, business leaders, and members of the tourism ecosystem, who will present services, products, and experiences to national and international buyers. Among the key announcements is the launch of the new Medellín–Mexico City air route operated by Viva Aerobus, an initiative that will expand international connectivity.
Medellín's Secretary of Tourism and Entertainment, Ana María López Acosta, stated that the joint participation with the Governor's Office and the business sector will strengthen the promotion of the destination and open new business opportunities. For his part, Manuel Alejandro Naranjo Giraldo, Secretary of Economic Development of Antioquia, explained that the showcase will serve to consolidate alliances, facilitate business deals for tour operators, and position the regional brand "Antioquia es Mágica" (Antioquia is Magic).
ANATO estimates that the event will generate approximately 2 billion pesos in business. In this context, 20 entrepreneurs from the city and region will hold nearly 300 business meetings with buyers from various markets.
With over 50,000 attendees expected, the fair is shaping up to be a key space for exchanging experiences and promoting destinations. Medellín and Antioquia have experienced sustained growth in tourism, which has boosted the local economy and strengthened various productive sectors.
The proposal also reflects global trends in the sector. According to international organizations, travelers are showing increasing interest in natural environments and authentic experiences. In this regard, the region highlights its natural and cultural attractions: from Santa Elena and Arví Park to the Coffee Southwest and Eastern Antioquia with its rivers and reservoirs, elements that complement the urban offerings and strengthen the destination's position in the national and international market.
