With the aim of guaranteeing the optimal conditions for the development of high-level competition and reaffirming its leadership as the capital of international sport, the Government of Jalisco, through the Ministry of Tourism and CODE Jalisco, reports that the 2026 Diving World Cup officially enters a rescheduling process.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts between the head of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE), Rommel Pacheco, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Olympic Committee and World Aquatics, it has been agreed to seek a new window in the international calendar.
This decision seeks to ensure that the competition has the presence of the world powers of the discipline and maintains the standards of excellence that distinguish the Jalisco venues.
Currently, the institutions involved are reviewing the competitive schedules to confirm soon the new period in which Guadalajara and Zapopan will host the elite of diving.
This action reinforces Jalisco's projection for the major international commitments of the year, including preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
With this rescheduling, Mexico maintains its strategic position within the World Aquatics circuit, ensuring that national athletes can compete in front of their home audience on one of the most important platforms of the sporting cycle.
In this regard, Jalisco remains the main venue for dialogue, reaffirming the confidence of international organizations in the state's sports infrastructure.
More than 90% of the events scheduled for this year in the state are still on, following the rapid reactivation of its tourist destinations. In March alone, more than 75 meetings are planned, including congresses, conventions, sporting events, culinary events, exhibitions, and business gatherings.
The Diving World Cup is part of the more than 100 international events that will take place in Jalisco during the so-called "Year of the World Championships", in which this state will host important international events such as the first edition of ITB Americas during the next five years.
Similarly, ICOLD Mexico, which brings together specialists at the International Congress on Large Dams; the First LEGO League International Open Championship Mexico 2026, focused on young talent and innovation; the WMT World Meeting Forum, a space for networking and global trends; the Guadalajara International Book Fair, one of the most important publishing events in the Spanish-speaking world; and the Guadalajara International Film Festival, a benchmark for Ibero-American cinema.
Also in Puerto Vallarta, events are scheduled in the short term, such as the Food and Travel 2026 awards ceremony, the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) Puerto Vallarta, Vinoma, Gala Vallarta-Nayarit, among others, while in Guadalajara the calendar continues to include Mary Kay Leadership, ANTAD, World Meeting Forum, National Congress of the Mexican Association of Members of Faculties, Schools of Nutrition (AMMFEN), International Congress of Advances in Medicine (CIAM), among others.
Meanwhile, the most iconic trophy in international football has already arrived in Guadalajara. Just over one hundred days before the start of the 2026 World Cup, the cup made its arrival at the AKRON Stadium as part of the FIFA Trophy Tour, becoming one of the most anticipated events leading up to the tournament. Thus, Jalisco's international profile remains strong with a robust schedule of matches that will continue to position the state as a host of high-impact events.
