"We are proud to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This award highlights how our employees, support groups, leaders, and strategic partners work together to build a fairer and more inclusive future where everyone feels they belong," said Arielle Meloul-Wechsler, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources and Public Affairs Officer at Air Canada.
Air Canada continues its efforts to foster a more inclusive work environment and industry through strategic partnerships, employee-driven initiatives, and proactive engagement with diverse communities during its recruitment processes:
Linking with underrepresented communities to share career opportunities in the aeronautical sector.
Partnerships with Canadian organizations and specialized schools to offer scholarships to people from minority groups studying to become pilots or aircraft mechanics.
Implementation of a strong internal governance structure that supports inclusion and a sense of belonging at all levels of the organization.
Recognition of the diversity of its workforce through Employee Resource Groups and Champions of Inclusion.
Canada's Top 100 Employers for Diversity awards recognize national leaders in creating inclusive workplaces for employees from five underrepresented groups: women, visible minorities, people with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and people from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community (two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual). Employers are selected by Mediacorp editors based on nominations submitted to the annual Canada's Top 100 Employers project.
