Panama participated in the ANATO 2026 Tourism Showcase, held from February 25-27 at Corferias, Bogotá, where it reaffirmed its position as a diverse, reliable, and authentic leisure destination in the Latin American market. The country's presence was located in the event's international pavilion, at booth 720 in the Grand Hall.
Through the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) and Visit Panama (PROMTUR), the destination was accompanied by 43 entrepreneurs from the Panamanian tourism sector, with the aim of strengthening B2B business relationships and promoting its vacation proposal based on the combination of modern city, nature, culture, rest and entertainment.
During the fair, Panama presented a tourism offering that stands out for its natural and cultural diversity. The country boasts beaches on two oceans, mountains, rainforests, and a wide range of biodiversity within relatively short distances, in addition to its historical heritage, living traditions, and vibrant urban life. Its appeal for shopping tourism was also highlighted.
The Panama booth incorporated experiences designed to highlight the destination's main pillars, including its gastronomy, considered a key element of its identity. The culinary offerings are supported by Panama City's recognition as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in Latin America. As part of the activation, tastings were held, allowing visitors to discover the diverse flavors of Panamanian cuisine.
The experience was complemented by a sensory tunnel and a 360° virtual reality experience, which allowed attendees to immerse themselves in some of the country's main natural, cultural and cosmopolitan attractions.
“Colombia is an important market for Panama and one of our main allies in the region. We share geographical proximity, air connectivity, and a cultural affinity that facilitates tourism and trade. At ANATO 2026, we are here to consolidate relationships, generate new business opportunities, and showcase Panama as an authentic, sustainable, and competitive destination. Our objective is clear: to strengthen alliances with key industry players and continue positioning Panama as the world's premier host in Latin America,” highlighted Gloria De León, Panama's Minister of Tourism.
With an offering aligned with the trends of the Colombian traveler—who seeks authenticity, diversity, relaxation and the possibility of combining culture, city and nature in a single trip—and with multiple daily flights connecting Panama City with the main cities of Colombia, the country continues to consolidate its position as a nearby, reliable, accessible and competitive destination in the region.
