Brazil reaffirms its position as one of the main international markets for SKY Airline, driven by sustained growth in passenger demand from Chile, increased frequencies and positive projections for the summer season.
Summer figures show a particularly strong performance on routes to Rio de Janeiro and Florianópolis, with significant increases both month-on-month and year-on-year.
During the peak season, the airline operates up to 21 weekly flights from Santiago to Rio de Janeiro and 19 to Florianópolis, strengthening connectivity with Brazil and supporting the growth of tourist flow between both countries.
“Brazil continues to be one of our passengers’ favorite destinations during the summer season. In February alone, we project transporting nearly 60,000 passengers to Rio de Janeiro and Florianópolis, reflecting strong and sustained demand. The combination of connectivity, proximity, and a diverse range of tourist offerings makes it a very attractive option for Chilean travelers, and motivates us to continue strengthening our international network to meet their preferences,” said Benjamín Cox, Deputy Sales Manager for SKY in Chile.
Rio de Janeiro: Demand accelerates in January and February
Rio de Janeiro recorded approximately 14,300 passengers in December, marking the start of the summer season. However, it was in January that the route experienced the most significant growth: with 26,400 passengers transported, it registered an 84.6% increase compared to the previous month.
By February, SKY projects to transport 31,800 passengers to the Brazilian city, representing an increase of 121.9% compared to the start of the season and a growth of 8.7% compared to the same month in 2025.
This behavior confirms an acceleration of demand during the weeks of greatest tourist activity and consolidates Rio de Janeiro as one of the most relevant destinations within the company's international network.
Florianópolis: the fastest growing route
Florianópolis, meanwhile, is positioned as the fastest-growing route within SKY's operations to Brazil from Chile. In December, it transported 27,900 passengers, representing a 136% increase compared to November and marking a particularly strong start to the season.
The increased flight offering has allowed us to maintain volumes close to 28,000 passengers per month, reflecting a constant demand throughout the summer.
In year-on-year terms, February 2026 is projected to show a growth of 20.2% compared to the same period in 2025 and is shaping up to be the month with the highest passenger volume since the route began operating structurally in July 2022, surpassing the records achieved when the operation was exclusively seasonal.
With these results, the 2026 high season consolidates Brazil as one of the pillars of SKY Airline's international performance, in a context of high tourist mobility and growing demand from Chilean travelers.
