Central America continues to strengthen its international promotion strategy in the European market through a multi-destination proposal that integrates the tourism offerings of Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. The initiative is driven by the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA), which seeks to position the region as a diverse and complementary destination for European travelers.
During its promotional activities in Europe, the region showcased a wide variety of experiences that combine nature, archaeology, living culture, gastronomy, and adventure. This diversity helps solidify Central America as an attractive multi-destination for those seeking more comprehensive tours and authentic experiences all in one trip.
The German market continues to show growing interest in destinations that offer contact with nature, cultural authenticity, and sustainable options. In this context, Central America's presence on the continent represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen ties with tour operators, specialized agencies, and media outlets interested in expanding their offerings to include emerging destinations.
Prior to the main agenda, CATA and a delegation of Central American tourism companies conducted promotional activities in Germany through professional meetings organized in Wiesbaden and Munich. These roadshows allowed them to present the region's multi-destination offerings, generate new business contacts, and prepare the ground for meetings with key players in the European tourism sector.
As part of its international positioning strategy, the organization also promoted the upcoming edition of the Central America Travel Market (CATM), to be held in Guatemala in October. The event has established itself as the region's leading tourism business platform, facilitating meetings between industry professionals, international wholesalers, tour operators, and specialized media interested in Central America's multi-destination offerings.
Furthermore, as part of its promotional agenda, CATA carried out the Central America Media and Trade Awards, an initiative aimed at recognizing the work of tour operators, journalists and media in the German market that have contributed to positioning the region as a leading tourist destination.
Through these actions, Central America seeks to further expand its presence in Europe, highlighting its natural and cultural diversity and promoting the many experiences it offers to travelers who wish to discover new destinations.
