Volaris launches new direct route between Guadalajara and Salt Lake City

The Mexican airline will expand its network in the United States with three weekly flights to Utah starting June 1, strengthening connectivity between western Mexico and the Mountain West region

Mexican airline Volaris announced the launch of a new direct route between Guadalajara and Salt Lake City , expanding its international network in the United States. The new service to Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will begin operating on June 1, 2026 , with three weekly flights scheduled for Mondays , Wednesdays, and Fridays . Tickets will be available for purchase starting February 3 .

The opening of this route represents a milestone for the company, as it is its first service to the state of Utah , incorporating Salt Lake City as a new destination within its growing network in the United States.

Bill Wyatt, CEO of Salt Lake City International Airport, highlighted the importance of this new connection for the local market. “Volaris has a strong reputation in the market for offering ultra-low-cost flights to Mexico. The addition of this direct service between Salt Lake City and Guadalajara represents a valuable alternative for passengers seeking competitive fares,” he noted.

With this addition, Volaris continues to expand its presence in the US market , adding new airports and states to its network. The airline currently operates in 24 US airports , positioning itself as the Latin American carrier with the largest presence in the country .

The new Guadalajara–Salt Lake City route will facilitate direct access between two regions with strong economic and tourism growth. The connection is geared toward both family and friends visiting , as well as business and leisure travel , while strengthening connectivity between western Mexico and the mountainous western United States.

Enrique Beltranena, president and CEO of Volaris, emphasized that the operation is part of the airline's growth strategy in the U.S. market. “This new route represents an important step in our connectivity strategy in the United States.
