Avianca airline announced the start of ticket sales for a second daily flight on the Bogotá-Caracas route, an operation that seeks to expand travel options and strengthen air connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela.
The decision responds to increased passenger demand and the consolidation of operational and air safety conditions, assessed in coordination with the relevant authorities. The airline had recently resumed direct service between the two capitals with daily flights, restoring a key link in the region.
With this new frequency, Caracas will be connected to 37 international destinations through the Bogotá hub, in addition to 24 domestic destinations within Colombia. It will also allow access to an additional 16 international destinations via same-day connections.
Destinations accessible from the Venezuelan capital include cities in the Caribbean, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, the United States, Mexico, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, Chile, and Spain, significantly expanding travel options for passengers from both countries.
The new route will be operated with Airbus A320 aircraft, configured with approximately 180 seats per flight. With two daily flights on the route, Avianca will offer around 5,040 seats per week, significantly increasing passenger capacity between the two destinations.
The start of operations is scheduled for March 28, 2026, offering greater flexibility in itineraries and connections for travelers.
With this expansion, Avianca continues to strengthen its regional network and support the growth of tourist, business and family travel between Colombia and Venezuela, while expanding connectivity options in the Americas and other international markets.
