Bariloche is preparing its tourist agenda with Easter Week, the Chocolate Festival and the start of the snow season

San Carlos de Bariloche is heading towards the end of the summer season with positive prospects for tourism and a well-defined schedule of activities for the coming months. Between April and June, the city will offer a program that combines traditional events, nature experiences, gastronomy, and the start of the snow season, one of the most important periods for the destination.

In this context, the promotional work driven by the Bariloche Mixed Tourism Promotion Entity (Emprotur) seeks to maintain the flow of visitors and strengthen the city's positioning in different tourist markets.

The organization's executive director, Natacha Vázquez, noted that the strategy focuses on highlighting the diverse experiences the destination offers year-round. She explained that the combination of nature, culture, gastronomy, and events allows them to attract travelers in every season.

April: Holy Week and the National Chocolate Festival

One of the highlights of the calendar will be Holy Week, when the city becomes the stage for the National Chocolate Festival, an event that attracts thousands of visitors and has become established as part of the local cultural identity.

Among the most anticipated activities is the creation of the world's longest chocolate bar, a tradition that brings together master chocolatiers and the public on Mitre Street. The celebration also includes artistic performances, tastings, activities for the whole family, and various events that transform the city center into a themed promenade.

During autumn, interest in outdoor activities also grows, such as walks in Nahuel Huapi National Park, tours of mountain refuges and trekking circuits among forests that take on the characteristic colors of the season.

This period also marks a significant date for the local community: May 3rd, when Bariloche commemorates its 124th anniversary. The day includes official ceremonies, festive activities, and the traditional parade that brings together institutions, organizations, and residents.

May: anticipation for the first snowfalls

As autumn progresses, May typically marks the arrival of the first snowfalls in the mountain range. Each season, the first snowflakes generate excitement among residents and visitors, as they symbolize the start of the countdown to winter.

During this period, Patagonian cuisine takes center stage. Restaurants, craft breweries, chocolate shops, and tea houses offer dishes that combine regional products with views of the Andean landscape.

Winter and National Snow Festival

With the arrival of June, Bariloche begins preparing for the official launch of the winter season, one of the most important moments on its tourism calendar. The city is once again positioning itself as one of South America's leading snow destinations, attracting visitors with activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and other mountain experiences.

Within this framework, the National Snow Festival is celebrated, an emblematic event that brings together shows, cultural activities and celebrations that accompany the start of the season.

Tourism promotion and outreach

According to Natacha Vázquez, the challenge for the destination is to continue showcasing the wide range of experiences available year-round. “Bariloche has a very rich calendar of events throughout the year. Our challenge is to continue highlighting this diversity of experiences and further positioning the city in different markets,” she stated.

Communication campaigns, participation in international fairs and joint work with tour operators are part of the strategy aimed at strengthening the destination's presence and sustaining the flow of visitors in each season.
