Avianca announced the addition of two Airbus A330-900 aircraft to its fleet, which will join the 15 wide-body aircraft currently operating the company's long-haul routes. The arrival of these aircraft represents a strategic step in the airline's growth plan and strengthens the Abra Group's presence in medium- and long-haul operations in the region.
The new aircraft will be based in Colombia, representing a greater investment in the country and reflecting Avianca's commitment to strengthening air connectivity and developing tourism. Furthermore, the company consolidates its position as the only operator of this aircraft model in Colombia.
The Airbus A330-900s are expected to enter service starting in the second half of 2026 and will be used on strategic routes within the Americas. Each of these aircraft will have a capacity of 377 seats and will incorporate the Business Class Americas experience, designed to offer higher levels of comfort and service on board.
“The addition of these Airbus A330-900s represents a fundamental step in our roadmap for growth in our long-haul offerings. With these aircraft, we continue to strengthen our investment and commitment to Colombia, while expanding the connectivity of the Americas with the world and reinforcing the Abra Group's network and operational capabilities,” said Gabriel Oliva, president of Avianca Group.
These two aircraft are part of the announcement made by the Abra Group regarding the addition of seven Airbus A330-900s to its fleet, an initiative that seeks to consolidate the group's expansion in the regional market and strengthen the air network that connects Latin America with other international destinations.
