Special Tours, the tour operator specializing in premium tours for Spanish-speaking travelers and part of Ávoris, has appointed Paola Lazaro as Sales Executive for its operations in Mexico. Lazaro will be responsible for driving product development and operations in this market, focusing on strengthening relationships with local travel agencies and optimizing the tour operator's offerings for Mexican clients.
Paola Lazaro joins Special Tours after six years at one of the leading international Spanish-speaking travel agencies, where she gained experience in two complementary areas that define her professional profile. During her time on the Help Desk and Escalations team, she specialized in incident management with suppliers and offices, developing analytical and coordination skills that are crucial to the daily operations of a tour operator. Later, she moved to the Product area, where she participated in the design of marketing campaigns to boost sales of tours, cruises, hotels, and leisure products such as Disney, in addition to gaining in-depth knowledge of mobility management and traveler assistance.
This background gives him a 360-degree view of the business: he understands both the internal processes that support operations and the commercial dynamics that drive sales. For Special Tours in Mexico, where the relationship with the network of agencies is central, this dual expertise has direct value.
“Paola’s addition is a strategic decision: Mexico is a market with a solid distribution network and increasingly demanding travelers, and we needed someone capable of operating with the same competence in the back office as with our business partners. Her experience in product and operations management gives her exactly the comprehensive vision we were looking for to continue growing in the region,” said Alejandro Lavín, Global Commercial Director, Special Tours.
This pooling of talent is part of Special Tours' commitment to consolidating its presence in Latin America, a market where the tour operator offers itineraries in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East, Central Asia, Africa, Australia, and exotic destinations. Mexico represents one of the region's key markets, both for the volume of long-haul travelers and the maturity of its tourism distribution network.
