FINE, the international wine tourism fair held in Valladolid, concludes its seventh edition with a positive assessment of the activities in which professionals from 21 countries in Europe, Asia and America have participated.  FINE is a pioneering event in the promotion and marketing of wine tourism, bringing together 140 wineries, hotels and routes from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Slovenia, and 93 tour operators and travel agencies specialising in this segment, operating in key markets such as the United States, Brazil and Portugal, among others.

The managing director of Feria de Valladolid, Alberto Alonso, emphasised that FINE "is designed as a business platform where supply and demand meet, a workspace that puts more than 2,000 interviews on the participants' agenda".

The diversity and maturity of wine tourism is evident at FINE, thanks to the participation of the most important wineries, hotels and regions, representing the cutting edge of wine tourism. Emblematic names from wine regions such as Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Galicia, Navarra, the Canary Islands, Aragon, Alentejo, Douro, Madeira, the Azores, etc. showcased at the fair the many options designed to meet the demands of different types of travellers: tailor-made programmes, family programmes, corporate incentives, unique experiences, etc.

The president of the Executive Committee of the Valladolid Fair, Victor Caramanzana, mentioned FINE's solid track record and its international development, materialised in the Italian version of FINE, while thanking the organisations, companies and professional associations involved in the project "for this country event that helps to develop tourism that deseasonalises the offer, fixes the population in rural areas, creates employment, etc.".

Turespaña, Valladolid City Council, Provincial Council, Regional Government of Castile and León, Spanish Wine Federation, Acevin, Confederation of Travel Agencies, Abadía Retuerta, Protos, Dehesa de los Canónigos, Ferrer Wines and Bodegas Alvear are collaborating with Feria de Valladolid in the development of FINE.

In its seventh edition, FINE has opened the door to new content, olive oil tourism, a natural ally for wine tourism, which broadens the range of offerings for new travellers and markets.

The dissemination of knowledge and analysis of the sector is another of FINE's focal points and, with the help of experts such as Professor Gergely Szolnoki from the German university Hochschule Geisenheim, issues such as the capacity of wine tourism to act as a strategic driver for leading the construction of a tourist destination were addressed.

The FINE agenda extends beyond the trade fair with familiarisation trips that allow participants to learn about the details of wine tourism offerings in regions such as the Algarve, Alentejo, Central Portugal, Ribera del Duero, Madrid, the Basque Country and La Rioja.

The next event for wine tourism professionals will be at Riva del Garda Fierecongressi on 27 and 28 October, with the second edition of FINE Italy.
