The organizers of the PGA TOUR's VidantaWorld Mexico Open unveiled the key features of the 2026 edition of the tournament, which will be held from October 29 to November 1 at VidantaWorld Vallarta. The event is jointly organized by the PGA TOUR, the Mexican Golf Federation, and Grupo Vidanta.

The competition will once again bring together some of the world's best golfers in Mexico, solidifying its position as one of the most important sporting events held in the country. Beyond the competition itself, the tournament is distinguished by offering an experience that combines sport, hospitality, international entertainment, and Mexican culture in a single destination.

A model never before seen in professional golf

The 2026 edition will mark a unique moment in the tournament's history. For the first time in professional golf, Grupo Vidanta will simultaneously act as the main sponsor, venue, and operator of the event, integrating every aspect of the tournament experience under a single vision.

This model allows for the development of a fully integrated week, in which the sporting competition is complemented by hospitality offerings and activities that extend the reach of the event beyond the sporting sphere.

World-class golf on the Mexican Pacific coast

The tournament will be played at VidantaWorld Vallarta, a course that has established itself as an ideal venue for professional golf due to its technical design and strategic demands. Located between the Pacific Ocean, the tropical rainforest, and the region's mountains, the course offers one of the most outstanding natural settings on the PGA TOUR schedule.

“The VidantaWorld Mexico Open represents golf at the highest competitive level. The VidantaWorld Vallarta Course is designed to challenge the best players in the world, and this year it will feature an optimized configuration that will strengthen the competitive dynamics of the tournament, while also offering an extraordinary experience for the fans who visit us,” said Ángel Gómez, executive director of the tournament.

An experience that transcends sport

The 2026 edition will be accompanied by a series of experiences that will transform the tournament week into a comprehensive celebration of sport, culture, and entertainment.

During those days, VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit will offer visitors and fans a schedule of activities that will include gastronomic offerings, shows and entertainment experiences of international scope.

“We want those who visit VidantaWorld during the tournament to experience much more than just a sporting event. We aim to create a complete experience where golf is combined with world-class entertainment, gastronomy, and hospitality, while also generating a positive economic impact for the region and positioning ourselves as a top-tier international destination,” explained José Alonso, head of hotel operations projects at Grupo Vidanta.

Highlights of the week include an international concert as part of the VidantaWorld Concert Series, the immersive Cirque du Soleil LUDÕ water show, and the celebration of Día de Muertos, one of Mexico's most iconic cultural traditions.

Mexico on the global golf stage

Since joining the PGA TOUR schedule, the VidantaWorld Mexico Open has helped position Mexico as a key destination on the international golf circuit. The tournament is broadcast to more than 200 markets worldwide, showcasing the country's rich culture and its capacity to host large-scale sporting events.

The 2026 edition will also have special significance as it coincides with the centenary of the Mexican Golf Federation.

“This year we celebrate 100 years of the Mexican Golf Federation, a century dedicated to the development, organization, and growth of our sport in the country. Having a tournament like the VidantaWorld Mexico Open on the PGA TOUR schedule is a testament to the current state of Mexican golf and Mexico’s capacity to host world-class sporting events,” stated Lili Álvarez, General Director of the Mexican Golf Federation.

For his part, Andrés Jurado Rivera Torres, president of the organization, highlighted that the tournament constitutes a platform to promote the development of golf in the country and give Mexican players the opportunity to compete alongside the elite of the PGA TOUR.
