Stefania Ymay was promoted to Area Director – Mexico and Central America at Preferred Hotels & Resorts
The executive will lead the brand's growth and the strategic management of more than 60 member hotels in the region
Preferred Hotels & Resorts announced the promotion of Stefania Ymay to Area Director for Mexico and Central America, expanding her responsibility in the development and positioning of the brand in these key markets.

“Over the past decade, Stefania has played a pivotal role in the brand’s growth in Mexico and Central America through strong partnerships with our member hotels. Her knowledge of the region and collaborative leadership make her ideally positioned to drive our continued expansion in the region.”
Since joining the company in 2016, Ymay has played a key role in the development of Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Mexico and Central America, helping to strengthen the brand's visibility among key audiences in the luxury travel sector. In her new role, she will expand her responsibilities to lead the brand's growth in the region and the retention of more than 60 member hotels, driving strategic alignment and operational integration across the various global markets.
The executive has over 15 years of experience in the travel industry, with a career spanning both hospitality and aviation. She joined Preferred Hotels & Resorts in 2016 as Account Director, a position from which she was responsible for driving profitability and hotel retention in the region. In 2022, she was promoted to Regional Director for Mexico, a role in which she strengthened relationships with member hotels and supported the addition of new properties to the portfolio. During this period, she also expanded her responsibilities to include Central America, allowing her to develop greater expertise in diverse markets and customer profiles.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts currently has more than 60 member hotels in Mexico and Central America. Among them is Montage Los Cabos, part of its exclusive Legend Collection, which recently hosted Arte Culinaria, a gastronomic festival that brings together some of the world's most influential chefs in Baja California Sur.
The company also recently celebrated the official opening of Las Brisas Mérida, reinforcing its alliance with Grupo Brisas, one of the leading names in independent Mexican hospitality.
The inaugural event brought together authorities from the tourism sector and the government, including Antonio Cosio Pando, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora and Joaquín Díaz Mena.
In Central America, the company recently added Dovle Branded Residences in Panama City, a property that offers 48 high-end apartments equipped with a living room, kitchen, and dining room.
