Barbados will serve as the homeport for Princess Cruises' expanded Southern Caribbean programs in 2027 and 2028, offering travelers the option to begin and end their journey on the island. This development further solidifies Barbados' position as the number one cruise homeport in the Southern Caribbean and opens up new opportunities for visitors.

More than 30 voyages through 15 captivating Caribbean destinations are included in the program, with the Crown Princess sailing from January to March 2027 and the Emerald Princess from November 2027 to March 2028. Itineraries range from six to nine nights, with most being seven-night voyages that offer guests a fantastic opportunity to discover Barbados' rich culture, natural beauty, and warm hospitality both before and after their cruise.

Tia Broomes, Senior Business Development Officer (Cruises) at Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI), said Barbados was delighted to welcome Princess Cruises' homeport expansion in Bridgetown, and that the growth of cruise itineraries from Barbados is the result of ongoing negotiations with cruise lines such as Princess.

“Barbados is currently in the midst of another exciting cruise season, offering visitors countless immersive and unforgettable experiences. This new route follows the 2025-2026 season, in which the island is expected to welcome more than 840,000 cruise passengers from North America, the UK, Europe, and beyond. As the gateway to the Southern Caribbean, Barbados is dedicated to providing the very best in hospitality and adventure to every cruise guest,” said Broomes.

Princess Cruises Vice President for the UK, Ireland, and EMEA, Eithne Williamson, said: “This expansion to include departures from Barbados adds even more variety to the highly sought-after Southern Caribbean and provides greater convenience for our guests traveling from the UK. Our Southern Caribbean itineraries feature a mix of island highlights and hidden gems, from the lush landscapes of St. Lucia to the tranquil beauty of Tortola, all accompanied by the exceptional service for which Princess is renowned.”

As the winter cruise season continues to grow, Barbados is dazzling passengers with an impressive and memorable list of attractions and activities to enjoy in 12 hours or less, making every stop on the island unforgettable.

The addition of Barbados as a homeport, complementing Princess Cruises' existing program in San Juan, means that travelers from the UK and Europe can now fly directly to Barbados to begin their Caribbean adventure, experiencing the island's world-famous beaches, cuisine, and attractions from the start of their journey.

There are direct flights to Barbados from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham, making it easier than ever to access the island's bustling cruise port. Guests can book flights independently or through Princess Cruises' Plane Sailing service, which offers added peace of mind with late arrival protection.

A seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise aboard the Crown Princess starts from £699 per person and sails round trip from Barbados, departing on March 12, 2027. The itinerary includes stops in San Juan, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Dominica, and Grenada, offering guests the perfect opportunity to begin and end their island trip.

The Emerald Princess' Winter/Spring 2027–2028 program includes departures during Christmas and New Year's. Fares start from £759 per person for a seven-night round-trip voyage from Barbados with stops in San Juan, Tortola, St. Kitts, Dominica, and Grenada. Departing on December 24, 2027, this itinerary invites travelers to celebrate the season in true Caribbean style. New round-trip sailings from Barbados went on sale Thursday, March 5, 2026.
